This band is about creation, we pull the best out of each other and
we throw back everything to the music. It's a full frontal three piece
attack as only these three guys bring. Only been together a couple
months we have many staggering improvisations and hours of
songs. We do this because we can and we can't help but play it with

Blackout Velvet was formed late in 2005, Tim and Chris John became
available just as Chris Jessee got settled in the KC area after moving from
San Jose, California. The original music just pours out of us into
improvisations and the improvised turn into some good songs. We write
'stream of conciseness' style while keeping the live energy that comes with
making music at the speed of thought. We have all the usual influences
and love great rock music and great songs
that move people.
The 'Blackout Velvet' sound is solidly throughout all of our music, it's the
raw energy of the full out stomp of the bass and drums with the emotion of
the guitar and vocal melodies melded (melt and welded) into a full-on
attack when played live. Our studio work is just a starting point for these
songs and our music. It's really alive, just listen.
